Bullying
‘Bullying won’t stop unless you tell some who can help.’
We all know that bullying goes on in and out of school, and parents, carers, teachers and other professionals have a duty to take action is they suspect or discover that child(ren) are being bullied.
Bullying includes:
- People calling you names or making things up to get you into trouble
- Hitting, pinching, biting, pushing and shoving
- Taking things away from you or damaging your belongings
- Stealing your money
- Taking your friends away from you or spreading rumours about you
- Making threats and intimidation
- Bullies can also frighten you so that you don’t want to go to school, so that you pretend to be ill to avoid them
- Making silent or abusive phone calls
- Cyberbullying – for example when mobiles or sites like Facebook are used bully people

Are you or someone you know being bullied?
If so, talk to your parent or adult in your family, a Teacher, adult family friend or neighbour;

What to do if there is violence at home
If you are worried or feel afraid because of violence at home please tell someone about it. If this is happening in your home talk to a teacher at school or someone else you can trust and tell them what is happening.
You can talk to someone at Childline – their freephone number is 0800 1111 or in an emergency ring 999 and ask for the police.
You could also talk to a social worker in Knowsley by ringing 0151 443 2600.
