Give Up Loving Pop (GULP) is a campaign being run by Public Health and Food Active and kicks off with a roadshow around the borough over the Easter school holidays.
Many of us are consuming more than the maximum recommended daily sugar intake, most of which comes from sugary drinks.
Sugar can cause a whole host of health issues, from tooth decay, to obesity, heart disease and type two diabetes.
Staff are being encouraged to sign up with family and friends for the campaign’s 21 day challenge, which starts on 8 May, to Give Up Loving Pop and switch to drinking water or low-fat milk. Anyone who registers and completes the challenge will be entered into a prize draw for a family ticket for the Christmas Panto, Beauty and the Beast, at the Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park.
